A Simple Thank You

Last night we greeted JK's plane at Orlando Internation Airport. What was supposed to be a small private event for about 50 staffers and super volunteers turned out to have 200 people - someone let the cat out of the bag.
Anyhow, the staff got the priority standing areas and we were treated to JK working the line after he landed. He came over to me and I asked him, "Senator - may I have my picture taken with you?" He smiled and said "Of course!" As he put his arm around me I said to him, "Senator - you've got a lot of people working very hard for you down here."
And he squeezed my shoulder and said, "Thank You very much."
I know to most people this may not seem like that much - but when you've been working so hard for so long for one goal - and the man who's responsible for that whole goal is standing before you - and expresses his appreciation. It's an amazing feel - one that should carry through into inauguration day.

Nice!! I cannot remember how I stumbled onto your blog, but I enjoy popping in reguarly to check it out. Congratulations on being part of such an important effort. Regardless of the outcome (which I am cautiously optimistic about), the energy this campaign has generated says a lot about the character of the democratic party. We work hard and play fair. I believe our candidate personifies these qualities, and you and your co-workers certainly do. Our democracy applauds you.
