Thoughts on Last Night

For the first time in a long time, I feel it today. I can taste victory. I know that we're going to win. Kerry was so good last night, and Bush SO bad.

I'm well aware that things could change - but I don't think they will. Kerry won the debate hands down - he wiped the floor with Bush. Everyone says so, even Conservative pundits and bloggers. And here at HQ things are picking up as well.

We're going to kick ass November 2nd. Or should I say, this ass will kick.

Quick Note - Kerry is in Kissimmee today at the Civic Center - 4:30 pm doors. Tomorrow he's in Orlando.

Yeah, it feels like we are back on firm footing. The article in the washingtonpost discussing high voter registration rates adds to my optimism. Here's something to think about it. It is my understanding that most polls are based on samplings of phone lists that do not include cell phone numbers. In this election cycle, more than any other, there are numerous likely voters who do not own a hard-line phone number--myself included. I have a number of 20-something friends who will vote and who do not register on polling lists. Moreover, I would guess that the cell phone only voters are primarily democrats (usually either young or financially disadvantaged). These polls might be 2-6 points off in our favor. I am dreaming of an unforeseeable landslide our way. That would be just too much fun!!!

You echoed some sentiments I was going to address in my next post - I agree with you 100%. Those who abandoned land lines are younger, and have higher education levels so therefore they're going to skew Democrat. I don't how many it is, but that group of people tells me that this election is going to be much stronger for Kerry than even the recent polling shows - and those polls have us ahead.
