Katrina, Missed Connections, Office Move
As the extent of the destruction and the human cost becomes clear, a sobering picture is being painted. I gave some money to the Humane Society's Disaster Relief Fund today (and NGP is matching all employee contributions). There are many worthy causes that deserve some support through these events.
30% of the Louisiana National Guard are in Iraq? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of having a National Guard? We need these people here and Shrub has them off fighting a bullshit war we can't win. Brilliant.

For all my love of being single, I'm surprisingly terrible about talking to women. I get...shy. Tonight, that was perfectly emphasized. I got on the train at McPherson. I immediately noticed a REALLY good looking girl sitting across from me. She had gorgeous dark brown hair, and gorgeous dark brown eyes. Our eyes kept meeting as one would sneak a look at the other when we though the other wasn't looking. When she got off at Clarendon, she smiled and said "Have a nice night". I was trying to figure out a way to give her my number - but I froze! I didn't know what to do! Dammit! So I took out a "Missed Connection" on Craigslist, but still. I wouldn't need to if I had a little more impulsiveness.

So the desk assembly party was this evening. I didn't quite finish, and there are a few places I probably could've done better. Here's hoping the damn thing doesn't collapse in on itself.

The new office is sweet, however. And we have a great view. Mwah ha ha. And there's a Quiznos less than a block away. And Starbucks on the way in!! Hooray!
