9-2, Studio 60 on the West Wing, Richmond, Flickr, George Allen

Every now and again, the Nats play some really good baseball. Tonight they shut down the Braves 9-2. It probably would've been 9-0 had Frank left Beltran Perez out there past the 6th. But nonetheless, some great baseball (and a great chance to play with my new camera.

I watched the debut of Aaron Sorkin's new show "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" last night (thank you TiVo). The show is very Sorkin - well written, witty, fast paced. My only problem is that I feel like I'm watching Josh Lyman put on a TV show - it's one thing when an actor plays a new role but looks different. It's quite another when the actor looks exactly the same - well dressed suit, same hair, etc. Bradley Whitford defined Josh Lyman perfectly - and made himself a hero to many politicos on the Dem side (alright, I'll include myself in that one). But that's the trap - it's hard to see him as anything else. That said, I'm sure I will keep watching.

I was visitng my friend Amy in Richmond this weekend, and we happened to be in Carytown at one point to hit the acclaimed "Plan 9 Records". After pulling some cash from a Wachovia, I noticed a Gay Bar and a Strip Mall. At that point, I distinctly remembered that my Grandfather's Pharmacy in Richmond was on Cary Street, in a Strip Mall, and became a Gay Bar. Well - as it turned out - the Gay Bar wasn't where the Pharmacy was - it was next door. Above is a picture of 3156 West Cary Street - where his Pharmacy was.

I broke down and got a pro Flickr account so that I might upload without impediment. Go ahead - check it out. Lots of pics for you.

I'll have a more political thought later, but I will leave you with this. How exactly is asking about whether your Grandfather was Jewish an "aspersion"?
