Unable to Comprehend

I can't even begin to make sense of what happened at Tech today. How can this be explained? Rationalized? Surely all of us feel the profound sense of loss, and we have not even begun to get the picture of the lives that were so cruelly snatched from us. Like anyone who grew up in Virginia, I had many friends who went to Tech. I'm admittedly quite relieved that the people I know have all graduated, at least as far as I know. But that doesn't soften this feeling of profound sadness. Just senseless.

A perfectly cromulent excuse.

"I don't know if Sen. Leahy is also an [information technology] expert, but I can assure you that we are working very hard to make sure that we find the e-mails that were potentially lost and that we are responsive to the requests, if there are responses that need providing, on the U.S. attorneys matters," [Perino] said. "We're being very honest and forthcoming."

Guess what. I am an information technology expert. The White House is full of shit. With the equipment I have on my desk at home I could recover any missing e-mails from their computers.

If this were the 19th Century, I would shout "FLIMSHAW!"

The Scourges of the Inter Tubes

It annoys me that legitimate comments from my friends get blocked by my spam filter, yet somehow asinine (heh heh...ass) spam comments get through. I believe that Drawing & Quartering should be used as punishment for spamming. Then after the mangled corpse is posted on the city walls, ice cream!

Why Studio 60 Failed

The West Wing succeeded because people love watching politicos talk about politics. Sports Night was an underground classic because people love watching sportscasters focus on sports. Studio 60 failed because nobody gives a damn what actors feel about politics.
